Spare time

In South Tyrol you are spoilt for choice when it comes to leisure activities – from easy hikes to extreme mountain tours, climbing at all levels of difficulty, swimming, mountain biking, motorcycling … with us the possibilities are limitless!

Hike to St. Hippolyt church, one of my favourite places.

Bike tours in all levels of difficulty are right on your doorstep. There is also a bike rental in Lana.

Hiking and biking paradise Vigiljoch – worth a trip at any time of the year.

Hike near Lana with view to the Ifinger, the local mountain of Merano. In the foreground castle Lebenberg, which was built in the 13th century.

View of Maultasch Castle near Terlan with the Texel Group with the first snow of the year.

Pleasure and Shopping

South Tyrol is famous for its cuisine: it is where the traditional Tyrolean and the Italian cuisine – in my opinion the best in the world-meet to an incomparable mixture. Convince yourself!

Art, culture

South Tyrol has some famous museums to offer, the most famous certainly is the Ötzi Museum in Bolzano. But also the Messner Mountain Museum in Sigmundskron near Bolzano is very interesting, lovers of modern art will get their money's worth in the Museion Bolzano. If you don't want to go far, the fruit tree museum in Lana is also worth a visit. The rustic farms in Ulten or Schnals are like an open-air museum for me. The gardens of Trauttmansorff Castle are worth a visit all year round.

Christmas markets

The South Tyrolean Christmas markets are meanwhile known far beyond the country's borders and offer a very special flair.
